“The Stories Jesus Told: The Parable of the Sower”

Pastor Jim begins a new sermon series this week entitled, “The Stories Jesus Told”. Jesus knew that stories can be powerful. The power of Jesus’ parables is in their ability to point to what God is doing in the world. The first in this series is “The Parable of the Sower” found in Mark’s gospel. Pastor Jim looks at this story from a different perspective. Whereas many people look at it and think, “What kind of soil am I?”, he wonders, “What kind of God keeps sowing like this?”
The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Isaac Langley, is back after their summer break. They sing, “All Creatures of Our God and King.” Anton Achondoa plays piano for the service.
