This is week 3 of Pastor Jim’s 6-week study of The Grace of Les Misérables. In this message Pastor Jim talks about an unnamed character, poverty, embodied by Fantine. Using John 12.1-8 he raised the question of the meaning of the phrase “You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me”. Is it a justification of disregarding the poor or a command to keep Jesus’ mission with the poor at the forefront of everything we do? Katelyn Peterson leads the choir in “This Lonesome Valley”. Craig Jordan once again plays piano for the service.
