To Affinity and Beyond...
We know it's actually "infinity," but there's no Buzz Lightyear around here. What there are is individuals with different interests and passions. Are you a golfer or woodworker? Do you like wine tasting or playing the ukelele? Chances are, there's someone else in the congregation who enjoys that, as well. Let us help you get connected! We currently have a stamp club and sewing group that meet at the church, but we'd always love to add more. Contact the Church Office and let's make some connections! Here's a few examples:
NAVIGATORS meet monthly August through June for social and service activities. Navigators is open to all interested adults.
CORNERSTONE is a senior singles group whose statement of purpose is: We are a Christian group organized to promote friendship, social activities, and to provide support for the senior singles of First Presbyterian Church of Marion, IA and their single friends. They meet the third Wednesday of each month, March through December, for a brief meeting and lunch at local restaurants. They also attend community events together.
SEWING GROUP meets every Thursday morning from 9:00 to noon in the Mission House basement. Each week they tie and bind quilts which are donated to various service organizations. Opportunities to help with this ministry from home for those unable to attend the weekly gatherings are available.
